Appearance[]
Bizu is a pale, thin man with demonic features including red eyes, pointed teeth, a devil tail, and pointed ears with many piercings. He wears black tie formal menswear, including a black-and-red tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo pants, a grey double-breasted waistcoat, a red bowtie and gloves, large red dress shoes, and a pince nez monocle. He also sports a top hat featuring Neru's logo that he wears at a slight tilt. He uses a number of props, including a smoking pipe, a large hammer, boxing gloves, a smartphone, and a variety of glasses. He never seems to stop smiling and moves to the music with sway. Overall, his design seems to take stylistic inspiration from vintage rubber-hose animation.
Background[]
Bizu's background is unclear, though it can be assumed he suffers from chronic overthinking to the extent he is frequently unable to sleep and feels sick. For emotional release, he seems to enjoy causing trouble and lashing out, differentiating himself from those who respond to their discontentedness by turning to superficial pleasures or even suicide. He seems to have quite the superiority complex, coping with his feelings of inferiority by viewing others as mindless machines and his own violence as an inevitable outcome of the violence society has wrought upon him in the past. He also seems to hold anti-capitalist beliefs, disillusioned by promises of luxury only to still feel unfulfilled and frustrated with the lack of any progress in broader societal change.
Trivia/Headcanon[]
- He is also sometimes referred to as Bizu-kun or Biz. This name was given by Ryuuseee on Twitter, after fans asked for a name in a live broadcast. He figured "SNOBBISM-kun" is too long a name.[1]
- The four-petaled flower design on his buttons are identical on his waistcoat and cufflinks.
- He is presumably of adult age, as he is depicted smoking tobacco and within an establishment that serves alcohol.
- He is likely not actually a demon, but a regular human Japanese man, who personifies himself internally as a demon in formalwear as an expression of his anti-capitalist beliefs.
- In the SNOBBISM PV, he strikes a pose with his right arm raised under a disco ball, a reference to John Travolta's iconic pose in Saturday Night Fever, an American dance-drama film from 1977.[2]
- Bizu is a strong man; he will live easy even when he got stranded all alone in an uninhabited island.
